Description Transwest is in need of a Human Resources Business Partner to be involved in every area of human resources, including but not limited to: employee relations, workplace investigations, leave management, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, safety, training, compensation analysis, ACA and so much more. This person will serve as the company's primary SME for worker's compensation, OSHA reporting and new employee onboarding. HSA and/or FSA, as applicable Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company Paid Holidays Employee Car Discount Program ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Consult with employees and managers to provide HR support, address questions and concerns by interpreting and applying company policies with consideration to employment law. Partner with managers on employee development, coaching, and performance improvement. anage employees’ requests for accommodations under ADA, including initial inquiry through to the final implementation of appropriate accommodations. Manage employee leaves of absence (unpaid personal, FMLA, STD) from initial request through formal designation and approval. Manage short-­term disability applications, premium adjustments, and return to work plans. Partner with business leaders to develop standardized compensation plans to document pay practices and commission structures. Collaborate with Recruiting and managers to evaluate existing job titles and descriptions for accuracy and consistency. When necessary, assist with creating new position titles and descriptions. Support a successful employee onboarding process and foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives. Demonstrate continuous effort in developing and fostering relationships with all levels of management and employees. Maintain employee personnel files and compile statistical reports concerning personnel ­related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, etc. Assist with the administration of the benefits program, including renewal strategy, plan design, open enrollment, mid­year changes, benefit enrollment site management, premium adjustments, etc. Leverages HRIS platforms and reporting tools to identify workforce trends, meaningful people data and insights needed to make data informed decisions. Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination and prepare recommendations to be presented to the HR Director. Respond to unemployment claims and represent the organization at appeal hearings, as appropriate. Utilize outside resources to monitor employment law updates, communicating potential changes to senior management. Assist with Cost Containment process and other safety related programs. Investigate and report on occupational accidents and injuries, manage workers compensation cases, and generate annual OSHA reports. Ensure HR regulations, statutes, and government mandates are met. Other duties as assigned. Requirements WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Requires sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time. Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires working in a fast paced environment. Requires the ability to occasional travel to local business locations, during business hours, about 5­-10% of the time. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience. Five to seven years of experience in human resources. Demonstrated experience navigating complex employee relations matters and leave of absence administration. Skilled in advising leaders, bringing a calm, solutions-oriented approach. Knowledge of employment laws nationwide, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, etc. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and personnel information systems. Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing. General to advanced knowledge of all Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe applications. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Exercise a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality. Demonstrate superior communication skills in person, over the phone and through email and other electronic means. Experience with Paylocity, preferred. PHR or SPHR, preferred. Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post offer background check, physical, and drug screening.
