Key tasks

  • Extracting, building and analysing people data from internal and external sources and presenting it in a clear and compelling way for stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Lead the analysis of HR data to provide routine insights that support business decisions and HR strategies (e.g., recruitment, retention, diversity, performance).
  • Develop and maintain routine outputs (including dashboards, reports, and visualisations) that communicate key HR metrics and trends to key stakeholders in partnership with the Data Visualisation Service.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and HR functional leads, focusing on extracting insights from data and building replicable reporting that inform HR operational planning and decisions.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency in all analyses, adhering to functional standards and ethical standards; driving improvements and providing assurance on the integrity of the information.
  • Ensure good data management through quality assurance, storage and maintenance of all people data in line with Welsh Government Policy and legal requirements.

  • Collaborate across HR functions, with other analysts and wider organisation to understand data needs and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements

As the function and role evolves, the role holder will develop professional analytical skills working in partnership with experts in the formal Government Research Service (GRS).   • develop experience of automating regular reporting using Reproducible Analytical Pipelines;
