Job Summary The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources and benefits support to the organization. This role primarily administers medical leaves and benefits programs while partnering closely with corporate recruiting to support the hiring needs of the organization. As a key leader of the human resources team, you are charged with promoting the Buchanan values of Safety, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Excellence in everything they do. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Corporate Recruiters Duties/Responsibilities: * Administer the employee benefits program, new enrollments, qualifying life events, issue resolution and serving as primary point of contact for employee questions and guidance * Manage the Family Medical Leave Act process by initiating leave requests, sending and receiving required documentation, coordinating with employees, managers and payroll to accurately track leave statues and timelines * Support and coordinate new hire orientation, including onboarding, collecting necessary documents and building employees in the HRIS system * Provide leadership and support to the recruiting team and ensure that recruiting activities align with organizational needs, compliance needs and candidate experience expectations * Handle all unemployment claims and inquiries, including documentation submission, hearing preparation and coordination with leadership to ensure claim management * Process employment and income verifications in a timely and compliant manner * Conduct internal workplace investigations including interviews and gathering documentation while maintaining confidentiality to present findings to leadership * Oversee and support employee disciplinary meetings and terminations while ensuring documentation accuracy and policy compliance Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Accurate and attentive to detail with a high level of organization Education and Experience: * Associate degree: additional related education preferred. * 2-4 years related HR and benefits administration experience. * Experience with payroll and benefits systems; Paycor preferred. * Basic knowledge of human resources functions including reporting and record keeping. * Experience administering employee benefits and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). * Customer service attitude while always maintaining confidentiality. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. * Proficiency in MS Office applications and computer operation.
