Summary – basic function of the role We’re looking for a Senior HR Generalist to join our team in Hengelo, Netherlands. Working on site four days per week, with the option to work from home on Fridays, you’ll play a key role in supporting our people across the region. Acting as a trusted partner to both managers and employees, you’ll oversee day-to-day HR operations and ensure policies and processes are applied effectively. From employee relations and performance management to onboarding and compliance, you’ll help drive a positive, consistent, and compliant workplace culture. Job Duties and Responsibilities Act as a trusted HR resource and advocate for employees in manufacturing and other support functions. Support organizational effectiveness by implementing HR programs and policies aligned with business objectives. Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver efficient and effective people management solutions that drive engagement and business results. Collaborate with managers and global HR teams to address business challenges with practical HR solutions. Manage core HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance reviews, compensation cycles, and HR metrics reporting. Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation to managers and employees. Support organizational development initiatives, including staffing structure reviews, training programs, and change management activities. Promote company values and foster a positive work environment through engagement and development initiatives. Coach managers and employees to build leadership capability and support career growth. Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies, recommending improvements where needed. Communicate HR policies, programs, and updates effectively across the organization. Skills and Competencies Strong HR expertise with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred experience in a publicly traded company and within a matrix organization. Solid experience in employee relations, engagement, recruitment, talent development, and performance management. Proficient in HR systems and tools; comfortable with data reporting and analysis. Hands-on approach with resilience and adaptability to changing business needs. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills, capable of building relationships and influencing at all levels of the organization. Ability to deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders and external partners. Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to handle sensitive situations professionally. Highly organized with strong prioritization and time management skills. Flexible and creative in addressing challenges and supporting change initiatives. Ability to travel up to 25% as required. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. +5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role required.
