The College Fund is looking for a talented full-time temporary (6-12months) Senior HR Generalist who will ramp us to being top notch in all matters HR. This includes all parts of the employee lifecycle with a focus on the back end things that keep things going: payroll, compliance, and systems optimization. The Team: You'd be joining the People Operations team of 3. We are lean, effective, and focused on ensuring our values are embedded in how we support our staff who do the day to day work of forwarding our mission. What you’ll do: We are looking for a proactive, scrappy, detail and results-oriented Senior Generalist to improve and execute core operations systems, processes and products. We are searching for someone with a proven track record of rolling up their sleeves to identify, correct and improve existing HR processes. This individual will co-own fundamental generalist responsibilities with a focus on executing payroll correctly and timely, ensuring we are compliant across all state, federal, and local regions we staff, and fostering a world-class people operations relationship with staff. This role reports into the HR Director and is not expected to travel. This position is based in Denver with an expectation to come into the office 3 times a week. This will be a full-time fixed term employee (temporary). The term expectation is 6-months with the potential to extend to 12-months based on performance and business needs. Your Day to Day Payroll * Administration * Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, including wage and hour compliance, tax withholdings, leave statuses and benefit deductions. * Oversee the preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payrolls for employees across multiple jurisdictions/states. * Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and adherence to company policies. * Stay up to date on payroll legislation and labor laws, implementing changes to maintain compliance and industry best practices.  * Own the payroll product administration in our HCM (Paycor). Compliance and Risk * Ensure compliance across federal, state, and local employment requirements * Ensure audit-readiness: * Manage documentation, audits and required reporting through Pacyor. * Audit onboarding and offboarding workflows ensuring consistency and compliance * Proactively identify and manage risks, inefficiencies or gaps in people practices and take ownership of escalating them before an incident occurs. * Maintain compliance calendar and ensure timely completion of required filings and notice Documentation, Reporting, Analysis * Develop and deliver custom payroll reports tailored to the needs of internal and external stakeholders, including leadership and auditors. * Collaborate with the Finance and HR teams to reconcile payroll data with accounting and financial records.  * Maintain employee records, documentation and HR policies People Operations Support * Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate information to employees and management. * Own the maintenance, rollout, and enforcement of HR policies and SOPs * Document payroll and other HR procedures in a clear and detailed manner, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the organization. * Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.  * Manage leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, FAMLI, and workers' compensation. You’ll be someone who has: * 5 years of multi-state HR generalist with at least 3 years of payroll processing experience * Experience with Paycor * Knowledge of federal HR compliance law and ability to learn state specific laws * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to autonomously manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with employees. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive data with integrity. * A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities. * A focus on embedding DEIB into all practices and processes of People Operations * Eagerness to build and drive positive employee engagement across the organization with trust and high confidentiality * An ability to build and maintain organized and repeatable routine work * A sense of urgency while balancing multiple changing priorities.
