Your new company


Hays is partnering with a government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior HR Talent Acquisition Team Leader for an initial six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a busy internal recruitment function supporting high-volume workforce requirements, with the potential for extension.


Your new role


Reporting to senior management, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment services across a diverse operational workforce. You will provide leadership, coaching and expert recruitment advice while ensuring recruitment outcomes are delivered efficiently and in line with public sector policies and procedures.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of recruitment professionals
  • Managing high-volume recruitment campaigns from sourcing through to onboarding
  • Providing strategic recruitment advice to hiring managers and stakeholders
  • Monitoring recruitment performance and service delivery
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the recruitment function
  • Ensuring compliance with government recruitment frameworks and policies

What you'll need to succeed


To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous leadership experience within recruitment or talent acquisition
  • Recent experience in a recruitment-focused HR or HR generalist role
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to develop high-performing teams
  • Previous government recruitment experience is essential
  • The ability to commence at short notice will be highly regarded.
