We are seeking a Senior HSE Manager (Health and Safety) for a flagship manufacturing facility in the Southeastern U.S. This individual will lead the site’s safety and health strategy, overseeing a team responsible for occupational safety, process safety, emergency response, and compliance. The Senior HSE Manager (Health and Safety) will work closely with site leadership to drive a culture of safety, reduce operational risk, and implement sustainable systems that support long-term performance.

THE SENIOR HSE MANAGER (HEALTH AND SAFETY) WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven safety leadership in settings such as pulp & paper, chemicals, or metals manufacturing.
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, ASP, CIH, or PE.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing the site’s Safety & Health team to support strategic goals.
  • Partnering with leadership to implement safety improvement plans and communicate performance metrics.
  • Promoting a proactive safety culture using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
  • Overseeing onboarding and ongoing safety training for all employees.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks through robust safety systems and controls.
  • Enhancing site capabilities in critical hazard management (e.g., hazardous energy control, fall protection, emergency preparedness).
  • Driving continuous improvement through audits, metrics, and performance reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, PSM, and EPA RMP standards.
  • Managing workers’ compensation and injury case processes.
