About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor or HSEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environment, and quality compliance for a major bridge infrastructure project in regional Victoria.

Delivered by a leading National Tier 2 Infrastructure Contractor, this project has 2 years remaining in its construction lifecycle. You will serve as the site authority on all HSEQ matters, working closely with the Project Manager, site supervisors, and client stakeholders to embed a proactive safety culture and deliver seamless compliance on a high-profile civil structures build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Drive the site HSEQ Management Plan, aligning national corporate governance with live site operations.
  • On-Site Safety & Auditing: Conduct daily site walk-throughs, safety inspections, SWMS reviews, critical risk assessments, and formal compliance audits.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Lead incident investigations, manage reporting, and implement actionable corrective controls.
  • Environmental & Quality Oversight: Oversee site environmental controls (waterway management, erosion, sediment) and ensure Quality Assurance (QA) documentation and sign-offs meet Victoria Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) and VicRoads standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary HSEQ contact for client representatives, local councils, environmental authorities, and sub-contractors.
  • Culture & Training: Deliver site inductions, toolboxes, pre-starts, and mentor junior site staff to maintain a transparent safety culture.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of HSEQ experience within civil infrastructure, with proven experience on bridges, major structural concrete, or heavy civil structures.
  • Qualifications:
    • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or Civil Engineering.
    • Lead Auditor qualification (Safety/Quality/Environment) preferred.
    • ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
    • Current White Card & valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Victorian OHS Regulations, WorkSafe Victoria standards, EPA Victoria requirements, and VicRoads/DTP civil construction specifications.
  • Location & Travel: Willingness to work regionally on site (local commute or FIFO/DIDO arrangements with living allowances offered).
