Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Human Resources Advisor to join our HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting people and driving positive change across the business.
As the first point of contact for managers and employees, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance across all areas of HR. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a consistent, compliant, and people-first approach in line with our company values, policies, and employment legislation.
This is a full-time role based at our headquarters in Kendal.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Provide timely and effective HR advice and support to managers on a wide range of people-related matters, including more complex employee relations cases.
  • Prepare employment contracts, contractual amendments, and associated correspondence; ensure all documentation is accurate and aligned with company policy.
  • Respond to employee queries and complete HR-related correspondence in line with statutory and internal timelines (e.g. flexible working requests, maternity leave, long service, references).
  • Facilitate training on HR policies and procedures, delivering sessions online, in person, or via workshops as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both electronic and manual, ensuring full compliance with GDPR and company standards.
  • Support line managers in the consistent application of the Company Attendance Policy; monitor and maintain absence records.
  • Liaise with the external Occupational Health provider to support the sickness absence process and ensure appropriate support for affected employees.
  • Conduct thorough, fair, and objective investigations; assist the HR Manager with more complex casework and provide regular case management updates.
  • Attend and minute formal meetings including disciplinary, grievance, absence review, and appeal hearings.
  • Induct new starters.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Specialist when required.
