Job Description
At Hail Creek, everything we do is about developing our people, optimising our asset and improving our future. We positively impact our people and communities. We strive to be industry leaders – the Mine of Choice. It’s a culture that fosters pragmatic outcomes where things happen quickly. We promote those ‘out of the box’ ideas to continuously improve and no day is ever the same. With a large and passionate workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a great opportunity for you to contribute and make an impact.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join our dynamic and successful team. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, this senior advisory role will see you leading a team of HR Professionals and executing the people strategy across our operations, providing operational services, and coordinating a broad range of activities across all areas of the employment lifecycle. You will also support our leaders by providing timely and accurate advice relating to employee and industrial relations matters, as well as HR trends and developments.
To be successful in this role, you are a savvy, results driven and resilient character with extensive HR experience and a passion for exceptional service delivery. Your demonstrated involvement in the delivery of business focused HR advice, coupled with your leadership capability and strong understanding of industrial instruments and employment law are essential to your success. You will be a highly organised, solutions focused leader who is responsive, intuitive, innovative, self-motivated and driven to achieve great outcomes.

Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to make sure you feel valued. In return, here are just some of the benefits we offer:

  • Access to the leadership development program;
  • The option to work a compressed nine-day fortnight arrangement;
  • A competitive package with lifestyle benefits;
  • Annual short term performance bonus;
  • 5 weeks annual leave per year;
  • Access to Coal Mining Industry Long Service Leave - one of the most generous long service leave schemes.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for you no matter your circumstance. You will have the option to either live locally in one of the communities that surround our operation or stay on site in our amazing village. We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two- and half-hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few.
Our people think and act like entrepreneurs. We have built a culture that rewards dedicated people with a can-do spirit, who take responsibility, and who have the drive to be leaders in their field. If you are caring, responsive, intuitive, and driven, and can operate within a dynamic environment, this is your chance to become part of a culture that empowers people and drives progression.
