Description
You will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resource department and other supporting departments. In this role you will: Lead various employee relations activities such as management coaching, conducting investigations, and supporting the performance management process. Lead hourly and salaried talent acquisition and management activities. Coach and influence peers and leadership regarding policies, practices, as well as laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture. Serve as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR shared service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinate benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes. Assists in the preparation of contract negotiations with the Local Union. Support the grievance and disciplinary process, interpret contract language and advise on day-to-day matters related to wages, benefits and working conditions to maintain consistent, fair and equitable treatment of employees. Generate and analyze regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes. Partner with HR Services to complete wage assessment and develop market adjustment proposals as needed. Facilitate the onboarding & orientation activities as well as the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations. Prepare and distribute HR related communications. Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests. Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations. Submit payroll changes, resolve any payroll errors, and answer employee questions. Perform other general duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Minimum 2 years of human resources and/or labor relations work experience. No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Amarillo, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Master's degree in business or human resources from an accredited institution. Minimum one (1) year work experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in a unionized environment. Professional HR Certification (i.e., SHRM or HRCI).
