Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Human Engineers to join our Human Engineering team in Berkley, MO. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cognitive Psychology or other Human Engineering related field of study
  • Level 4 - Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience or Master’s and 7+ years OR Level 5 - Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years’ experience or Master’s and 12+ years
  • 7+ years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Associate Certification from Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education
  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, psychology, human factors or related field
  • Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process
  • Knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STL-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD 411F, and JSSG-2010)
  • Ability to derive Human Engineering requirements
  • 4+ years of experience supporting defense programs
  • 4+ years of experience in program documentation of the HE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, et. al)
  • Experience in Human Modeling
  • Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools
  • Experience with Usability software
  • Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
  • Experience with Human Performance Modeling
  • Experience in workload assessments and situation awareness assessments
  • Experience in conducting tasks analyses
  • Experience in Agile Development
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities
  • Apply Human Engineering knowledge and principles to the analysis, design, and evaluation of complex systems
  • Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical, functional, and program interfaces for all system operators
  • Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of complex systems
  • Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes
  • Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, MIL-STD-1787, MIL-STD-3009, MIL-STD-411F) to meet program requirements
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design and development
