Duties: Under general direction of the Principal Engineer over the Power Markets, Compliance, and Reporting (PMC&R) Branch, the incumbent is responsible for representing the Department of Water Resources (DWR) State Water Project (SWP) as its official Credit Manager. This position is responsible for conducting assignments which are difficult, controversial, and require a high level of specialized expertise and unique technical knowledge and skills in the fields of finance and risk management. The candidate will perform periodic credit reviews and establish credit limits for counterparties that transact with SWP in power markets or energy hedging activities. Consistently monitor the Department’s credit exposure to these counterparties and report violations to management. Develop and recommend management policies for credit risk management for the SWP. Negotiate credit and collateral terms as required to transact with counterparties.
