Description
Experience: Minimum 12–15 years Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. Key Responsibilities * Conduct hydrological assessments of watersheds, river basins, lakes, and groundwater systems. * Analyze rainfall, runoff, streamflow, groundwater recharge, and water balance data. * Develop and calibrate hydrological and hydraulic models for flood forecasting, water resource planning, and climate resilience studies. * Assess flood risks and recommend mitigation measures, including nature-based solutions. * Evaluate surface water and groundwater interactions and prepare water resource inventories. * Support the preparation of master plans, regional plans, and infrastructure projects by integrating hydrological considerations. * Identify water-related risks and propose sustainable water management strategies. * Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental, geological, infrastructure, tourism, and urban planning experts. * Engage with government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to collect data and validate findings. * Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, and documentation in accordance with project requirements. Required Skills * Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MIKE Suite, SWAT, or WEAP. * Strong knowledge of watershed management, floodplain analysis, and climate change adaptation. * Experience with GIS and remote sensing tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS. * Familiarity with national and international water resource management guidelines. * Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Experience * Experience in at least two master planning, river basin management, or water resource development projects. * Prior experience working with multidisciplinary teams on urban, regional, or tourism development projects. * Experience with projects funded by multilateral agencies such as ADB, World Bank, or similar institutions is desirable.
