THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN MUNICH, GERMANY.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IFRS Accountant to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), preparing accurate financial statements, and supporting the organization’s financial reporting process. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret and implement complex accounting standards.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) with a focus on IFRS.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with IFRS.
  • Experience with financial reporting, consolidations, and audit processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Experience in a multinational company or Big 4 audit firm.
  • Proven ability to manage audit processes independently, including coordination of audit deliverables, resolution of inquiries, and liaison with audit teams across multiple entities.
  • Familiarity with other accounting frameworks (e.g., US GAAP) is a plus.
    Fluency in English is a must, working proficiency in German is helpful.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant IFRS standards, updates, and regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret new and existing IFRS requirements and provide guidance to the finance team.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations related to IFRS.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct technical research on accounting issues as they arise and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Train and support other finance staff on IFRS-related matters.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as required by management.
