Description

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Expert in IFRS 9 model development methodologies used for secured and unsecured credit products.
  • Experience of working for a banking organisation
  • Detailed understanding of effective model management principles.
  • Strong understanding of modelling methodologies, advanced approaches preferred, but not essential.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of stress testing modelling environments.
  • Significant experience in modelling, including demonstratable technical knowledge of IFRS 9 model design, development and management.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), influencing and negotiation skills being able to clearly communicate model methodologies to technical and non-technical senior and Executive stakeholders within the Bank and externally to the regulator and external audit
  • Track record of successfully designing & implementing credit models (IFRS 9, PD / LGD and stress testing)
  • Experience of managing stakeholder relationships
  • Knowledge of model risk governance framework, Model Risk Management principles etc.
  • Experience in an FCA regulated consumer lending environment (Experience of a dual-regulated FCA / PRA environment desirable but not essential).
  • Advanced range of statistical modelling and programming techniques
  • Strong understanding of statistical model validation and performance testing
  • Hands on coding language experience in any language – R/SAS/Python/Matlab/Stata/VBA; Expert in Excel
Responsibilities
  • Lead the IFRS 9 impairment model team in designing, developing, maintaining and monitoring industry standard impairment, models, applying advanced modelling approaches to deliver best practise results.
  • Maintain model management processes in line with Group model governance policy
  • Monitor and interpret impairment models performance, providing assurance the outcomes are reliable and in compliance with prevailing regulations.
  • Present impairment models to senior model stakeholders and governance
  • Through team, perform ad hoc analyses and provide evidence-supported recommendation to model stakeholders.
  • Lead and deliver in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on efficiency and best in class results.
  • Key point of contact for external auditors in relation to IFRS 9 models
