Description

Atomionics is looking for an Inertial Navigation Systems Engineer who will be responsible for developing a world-class solution for vibration and tilt correction for a quantum gravity sensor .
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience working with Accelerometers, Tiltmeters, IMU & INS systems, GPS/GNSS, AHRS as well as FPGAs, DAQs and signal amplifiers. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in modern control theory, State Space, Kalman filters, high/low pass filters, estimators and demonstrate exceptional skills in signal processing.
The successful candidate will be working to develop an integrated subsystem that removes the effects of motion (velocity, acceleration, vibration, tilt etc) from our quantum gravity sensor in dynamic environments, improving the performance and precision of the overall system.
Atomionics work with clients in the mining industry, providing mineral exploration services with our high definition gravity surveys. We use this data to accurately pin-point the location of mineral ores such as lithium & copper to accelerate the green energy transition.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the signal and data processing of the hardware sensors inside our quantum gravity sensor
  • Optimize the data collection from the sensors & data acquisition system (DAQ)
  • Develop, test and refine filters for signal processing (Kalman, Allan Deviation, Low Pass etc)
  • Develop corrections and algorithms to address the effects of vibration and tilt on the quantum gravity measurements in a dynamic environment
  • Create mathematical models of dynamic environments and design control algorithms for accelerations and rotations of the gravity sensor
  • Specify stabilization hardware required to dampen motion in dynamic environments
  • Design, perform and analyze experiments to refine our technology
  • Analyze and specify the ideal hardware for the subsystem
  • Work cross-functionally with quantum physicists, mechanical, electronics and software engineering for development and integration of the subsystem
