Organizational Context and Scope Under the overall supervision of the National Head of Resources Management and direct supervision of Project Manager (IBG), and in close coordination with the IBG Regional Thematic Specialist (RTS) at the Regional Office and the MIDAS Team in Headquarters (HQ), the Senior Information Technology Associate (IBG) will provide technical and IT support for the implementation and expansion of the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) in the country. The ultimate objective of the project is to strengthen Timor-Leste’s migration and border management capacities to counter organized crime, promote national security, and support economic growth. The project will expand and enhance the IOM-developed MIDAS through the roll-out of the system to additional target Border-Crossing Points (BCPs). The project will also deliver a suite of capacity building activities to relevant national stakeholders including training and the development of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The incumbent will also support the provision of ICT solutions and services in the Country Office, including end user support. The role is essential for maintaining efficiency and effectiveness of missions IT networks and systems, contributing to the overall organizational productivity in alignment with IOM ICT Strategy, policies, and standards.
Responsibilities
The Senior Information Technology Associate will provide technical and IT support for the implementation and expansion of the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) in the country, focusing on strengthening border management capacities. This role also involves supporting the provision of general ICT solutions and end-user support for the Country Office, ensuring network efficiency.
