Job Description

  • Extensive experience (10 years+) at senior expert/architect level in large scale environments with comparable scale, complexity and project delivery timelines
  • Extensive experience in briefing Senior Management (including Board/CIO/CTO/CISO level)
  • Extensive experience in collaborating closely with other senior architects in other technical domains to investigate incidents, identify solutions and design new architectures.
  • Extensive experience in assisting Senior management in reviewing and defining strategies and architectures for the relevant technical domain, to ensure that it is agile, flexible, fit for purpose and meets strategic needs for current and future (+5 year and +10 year) requirements.
  • Proven expertise in ensuring availability, performance, integrity, stability and scalability of systems.
  • Demonstrate deep curiosity and proactivity in investigating solutions, challenges and issues.
  • Demonstrate deep experience and knowledge of supporting infrastructures running in 24x7 highly available environments.
  • Extensive technical experience across all aspects of the relevant infrastructure technical domains in organisations with comparable scale, complexity and project delivery timelines.
  • Extensive experience in planning and delivery of complex strategic change in the relevant infrastructure technical domains in organisations with comparable scale, complexity and project delivery timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with IT staff, external partners and business users to understand existing issues and requirements.
  • Skills transfer and upskilling of staff in the relevant infrastructure and technical domains.
  • Point of escalation for technical analysis and incident response where required by more junior resources.
  • Extensive Experience in standards compliance related matters, engaging with ISO, internal audit, NIS2 or similar auditors on matters related to the relevant technical domain.
  • The proposed resource must have 10+ years of significant Network/Security experience at Senior Engineer/Architect level.
  • Proven experience in carrying out the types of tasks outlined in the Role Profile above
  • Ability to produce quality documentation.
  • Ability to interact with IT staff and end users to understand existing issues and requirements.
  • Willingness to “go the extra mile” and support outside of core business hours where required – whether planned work outside normal hours, or short notice assistance/incident response.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert level Industry Certification (– eg: CCIE) as well as other relevant network and security certifications and substantial hands on experience across infrastructure and security technologies such as:
  • Cisco (inc ACI, NXOS, IOS, ISE, ASA, UCCE),
  • HPE/Comware
  • Fortinet,
  • Palo Alto,
  • Vmware,
  • Citrix Netscaler,
  • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF etc) and MPLS networks,
  • Linux,
  • Ansible,
  • Docker,
  • Git,
  • Python,
  • REST apis,
