The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation and continuous improvement of complex ICT infrastructure environments that support critical digital services. The role provides technical leadership, ensures infrastructure reliability and security, and contributes to strategic initiatives by delivering scalable, resilient and high-performing infrastructure solutions aligned to organisational objectives. NV2 Clearance is highly preferred. What you'll do: Design, implement, maintain and retire complex infrastructure solutions across physical, virtual, networking and cloud environments. Lead and contribute to infrastructure installation, upgrade and decommissioning projects, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, timeframes and quality standards. Provide senior technical expertise and guidance on infrastructure architecture, systems administration and operational best practice. Monitor and analyse infrastructure performance, availability and capacity to identify risks, issues and opportunities for improvement. Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery, business continuity and incident response plans to ensure service resilience. Perform root cause analysis on complex and unpredictable infrastructure issues and implement effective remediation strategies. Contribute to the development and implementation of infrastructure standards, policies, procedures and operational strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders, technical specialists and delivery teams to design and implement non-routine or contingency solutions. Support change management activities to ensure minimal disruption to services and business operations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infrastructure technologies, tools and industry trends to support ongoing capability uplift. What you'll bring: Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and decommissioning large-scale or complex ICT infrastructure environments. Strong experience administering and supporting enterprise infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking and cloud platforms. Proven ability to analyse and report on infrastructure and service performance, including availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability against agreed targets. Experience developing, maintaining and testing disaster recovery and issue resolution plans to ensure operational resilience. Demonstrated capability in root cause analysis of complex technical issues and implementing effective mitigation and resolution strategies. Strong understanding of infrastructure security principles, system hardening and operational risk management. Experience contributing to or leading infrastructure projects, including planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently on complex tasks while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams. Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
