LayerX is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Applicative Infrastructure team. In this role, you will tackle large-scale, high-performance, cloud-native infrastructure challenges and help shape a security-critical platform protecting millions of browsers across global enterprises. You will lead the design and development of complex backend security capabilities, own mission-critical microservice-based systems, and drive innovations that power our next-generation SaaS at scale. This is a backend infrastructure role with a strong focus on distributed systems, JavaScript/TypeScript internals, security, and developer experience. Own mission-critical production systems safeguarding enterprise environments and millions of browsers worldwide. Lead and influence architectural decisions for backend infrastructure and platform services. Collaborate with DevOps, Product, and Security teams to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions. Ensure system reliability and quality through performance tuning, automated testing, and peer reviews. Explore the cutting edge of web and browser security from a backend and infrastructure perspective. Drive rapid delivery, shipping improvements multiple times per day. Champion Developer Experience (DevX) by improving tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and developer workflows. Join a tight-knit engineering team solving complex infrastructure and security challenges together. Requirements Requirements: 5+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering. Deep understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript internals (runtime behavior, performance, promises). Proven system design and architecture expertise for large-scale, cloud-native environments. Track record of leading technical design, reviews, and implementations. Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and GitOps. Strong background in microservices, data modeling, and scaling distributed systems using relational and NoSQL databases. Skilled in debugging, optimizing, and scaling complex distributed systems. Ability to quickly master new technologies in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Self-driven, proactive, and thrives in challenging technical environments. Advantages Proven experience scaling backend infrastructure. Deep knowledge of web technologies, browser internals, security, and performance. Background in cybersecurity. B.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on expertise (including relevant IDF experience).
