Description POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Inside Sales Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and closing sales through remote channels. In addition to core sales responsibilities, the role involves strategic alignment with marketing efforts, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous innovation in sales techniques to maintain competitiveness. The Senior Specialist also ensures a high level of service for assigned customers by managing responsive communication, accurate documentation, and coordination across internal teams. Responsibilities include generating quotations, processing orders in the ERP system, handling customer inquiries, and supporting product delivery and returns. The role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, industry trends, and the ability to mentor junior team members. Success in this role is measured by exceeding sales quotas, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking sales environment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates company values and shares the organizational commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and a high-performance workforce through positive employee relations. Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, initiating and executing strategic sales initiatives, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by engaging in communications to understand needs, interpret OEM blueprints, and provide tailored solutions that foster long-term relationships. Lead technical discussions, deliver product demonstrations, and address complex inquiries to support sales conversions and enhance customer engagement. Prepare and deliver accurate, timely quotations using ERP systems, Excel-based tools, and blueprint analysis, ensuring alignment with customer specifications. Manage order processing with precision, ensuring complete documentation and timely communication to support quality standards and on-time delivery. Follow up on outstanding quotations to facilitate order closure, provide clarification, and maintain momentum in the sales cycle. Oversee customer-related projects—including repairs, CMAs, warranties, and standard orders—from initiation through completion, ensuring seamless execution. Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments (engineering, planning, manufacturing, shipping), leveraging customer feedback and data insights to drive continuous improvement. Coordinate delivery schedules, expedite requests, and manage stocking agreements to meet customer expectations and support company objectives. Administer customer purchasing portals and collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate invoicing and shipping processes. Champion process improvements and cross-functional collaboration to enhance sales operations, customer experience, and team performance. Attend and participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and other required activities. Travel to customer locations as needed (less than 10%) to support meetings and business needs. Performs other responsibilities as assigned and/or as needed to support company objectives. Requirements Work Experience Required A minimum of 5 years’ experience in inside sales or B2B sales, preferably selling auxiliary equipment and/or OEM capital equipment Education and Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Processing Engineering, Plastics Technology, or a related business discipline with substantial technical experience Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of sales processes, market dynamics, and competitor strategies within the screws and barrels industry Product & Process Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing operations and plastics processing techniques to support technical sales discussions Technical Proficiency: o Skilled in CRM platforms, ERP systems, and sales automation tools o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis applications o Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints Business Acumen: Ability to analyze and act on sales metrics, profit margins, and performance indicators to drive strategic decisions Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced sales environment Communication & Collaboration: o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills o Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach o Proven ability to work cross-functionally and balance competing priorities effectively Leadership & Adaptability: o Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to evolving market conditions o Team-oriented mindset with leadership qualities and mentoring experience Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation: Ability to sit and perform repetitive motions to utilize a computer and other office equipment (keyboarding) for approximately 8 hours per day.
