With a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, we deliver comprehensive solutions for infrastructure projects across the U.S. Our collaborative culture, technical expertise, and passion for improving communities drive our success.   POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Roadway Inspector to join our CEI team supporting transportation infrastructure projects in Louisiana. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of roadway construction, materials testing, and inspection practices in compliance with LADOTD standards. This role is responsible for ensuring contractor compliance with project specifications, quality control, and safety standards. Responsibilities * Monitor and inspect roadway construction activities including asphalt, concrete, embankments, base courses, drainage, and structures. * Interpret project plans, specifications, and LADOTD Standard Specifications to ensure construction compliance. * Document field activities through detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate construction records. * Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders regarding project progress and quality concerns. * Perform and/or witness required materials testing in accordance with LADOTD procedures. * Coordinate with the CEI team on inspection schedules, testing requirements, and documentation submission. * Utilize electronic field tools and software (e.g., SiteManager, HCSS, or equivalent) for inspection and documentation. Qualifications * Must have above average geometry and basic math calculation skills. * MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience. * Must have a current driver’s license with a safe driving record. * Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. * Good interpersonal communication skills, commitment to deadlines, and positive team attitude. * Willingness to learn and adapt to the fast-paced transportation industry. * Must be a US Citizen or Legal Resident. (At this time, we cannot support sponsorship, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position.) Education and Experience Requirements * HS diploma or GED is required. * Associate degree in an engineering field preferred. * Minimum 5 years of experience in LA DOTD QC/Inspection work desired. * Nuclear gauge certification is required. * Experience inspecting roadway paving (asphalt and concrete), roadway soil testing, earth work, and grading inspection preferred. * Experience in bridge work inspection (pile driving, drilled shaft etc.), beams. and bridge deck construction is preferred. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions not limited to loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.   Expected Hours of Work This position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated, occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours, compensated according to company policy.
