About the role We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Inspector with a NICET Level II certification to join our team on a major transportation improvement initiative in Region 10, covering Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-impact infrastructure project that helps shape safer, smoother travel for thousands of New Yorkers each day. If you’re passionate about quality, precision, and seeing your work make a visible difference, this role is for you. What you'll do Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with all standards and project requirements. Lead daily field inspections, overseeing contractor activities to confirm workmanship, safety, and adherence to design intent. Monitor asphalt pavement operations, materials, and installation to maintain quality standards throughout construction. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports with progress notes, quantities, and photos documenting field conditions. Verify construction quantities for payments, assist with change orders, and ensure accurate field measurements. Perform and observe field testing of materials including asphalt, concrete, and soils to confirm compliance with project specifications. Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting using SiteManager. Collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, and project teams to address field issues and keep work on schedule. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or infrastructure inspection. NICET Level II certification or a degree in Engineering or Construction Management (required). Hands-on experience with SiteManager for documentation and reporting. Proven background in asphalt pavement inspection and materials testing. Familiarity with NYSDOT standards, specifications, and inspection procedures. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation for field travel across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
