We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in Office for Advancement of Learning and Teaching (ALTO): Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Applying effective instructional design strategies and methodologies in the development of self-instructional materials and online/blended courses; Managing the overall project planning and course development activities of the University; Providing guidance and expertise in the selection and implementation of instructional technologies that align with pedagogical goals and enhance student engagement and learning; Providing seminars, workshops, and resources to faculty and staff on effective instructional design strategies and the use of educational technologies including AI, to enhance teaching and learning outcomes, develop AI competency, and promote research-based teaching practices; Collaborating with faculty and instructional design staff to identify and implement innovative instructional design strategies and technologies to improve teaching and learning effectiveness; Building effective working relationships with different teams involved in the course development process, fostering a collaborative and efficient workflow; Supervising and mentoring instructional design staff, as well as managing the course development and design processes; Conducting evaluation on the effectiveness of instructional design strategies and educational technologies, and making recommendations for continuous improvement; Designing and organizing events for the Learning and Teaching Week, with a focus on teaching staff and staff induction programs to enhance the quality of teaching and learning; Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement of Learning and Teaching and their nominees. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A recognized degree in education, preferably a higher degree in educational technology, instructional design or related discipline; At least 12 years’ of substantial relevant post-qualification experience. Teaching experience is preferred; Substantial experience in the design, planning and development of courses for delivery in the multi-learning mode; Extensive experience in conducting professional development seminars and workshops for faculty members; Technology skills in education, with experience in the use of computer- based/mobile technology for multimedia and online course development/design; An excellent command of the English language, with a preference for Chinese proficiency; and Strong communication and presentation skills.
