Senior Instructor (Research), Department of Paediatrics & Child Health Entity: Medical College Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level. You will be responsible to provide research and technical support to the department faculty in developing grant proposals, initiate research activities, run research projects and collaborate with other departments under the guidance of faculty. You will work in liaison with current researchers on identifying and developing future research and funding initiatives, developing and managing current and future research administration. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: ensure seamless execution of project from ERC to data analysis monitor and report protocol deviations develop SoPs and manual of operation for study activities, monitoring etc provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study work with the DMU for data quality assurance work with investigators to write proposals and manuscripts participate in research teaching of the Department as well as in the Departmental Research Committee. Requirements: You should have: MBBS along with FCPS-II in Obs/Gyn completed training in Obs/Gyn at least two years experience of working with midwives and in low resource clinics strong quantitative and analytic skills with experience in STATA, Python and/or R software proficiency in Microsoft related applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point etc excellent Management skills ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently willing to travel to field sites as well as internationally if needed excellent Team Player willing to accept any required additional/new responsibilities when and if required by study team. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
