Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Nursing Education, School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will be responsible for: teaching assigned theoretical and clinical courses in Undergraduate Nursing Education, including delivering lectures, evaluating students through assignments and examinations, and effectively applying principles of teaching and learning based on course and student needs supervising students during clinical teaching, facilitating the application of theoretical knowledge into practice, offering constructive, and ensuring that clinical experiences align with course objectives and uphold professional standards designing comprehensive course grids outlining curriculum structure, teaching-learning strategies, assessment methods, and class schedules implementing evaluation tools for classroom and clinical instruction in line with the School of Nursing and Aga Khan University policies, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and adherence to established performance standards providing constructive feedback (summative and formative) to students based on course objectives and encouraging self-directed learning, the inquiry process, and the development of culturally relevant knowledge and practices identifying learning challenges (self, learners, or course-related) and recommend strategies for improvement, seeking guidance from senior faculty or supervisors when necessary serving as an advisor for undergraduate students, guiding them through their academic and professional development engaging in research activities as a co-Investigator with senior colleagues and participate in dissemination initiatives maintaining confidentiality of all assessment tools and student advisement records engaging in program-related activities, meetings, and workshops, contributing to the continuous development and improvement of the program serving on committees at the school level and representing AKU-SONAM, Pakistan in university-wide committees and strategic meetings, as required providing mentorship to faculty at the Instructor and Intern levels in course development and teaching Perform any other tasks assigned by the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Nursing Education, or her designee Note: These responsibilities may be subject to periodic review and adjustments as per the institution's requirements and the evolving educational landscape. Requirements: You should have: a Masters degree (MScN/MSc in MPH, Epi Bio, HPM) with Basic Nursing qualification as mandatory (BScN/Post-RN, Diploma in Nursing) at least 3 years of clinical/ teaching experience\ experience in teaching Biostatistics would be an added advantage ability to demonstrate clinical competence as a professional nurse and an effective role model sound conceptual knowledge of nursing/field of specialization and ability to integrate theory into practice good teaching skills & knowledge of new teaching methodologies & practices knowledge of current research methodologies, and an ability to initiate research at least two published research papers; one as the first author in a Peer-reviewed, Indexed Journal (at least one paper published in the last two years). ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with course participants good academic writing & presentation skills fluency in English & Urdu and an ability to communicate in other regional languages would be an advantage proficiency in the use of computers and related software packages good conceptual and analytical skills good knowledge of educational leadership and management good planning & organizing skills good interpersonal skills & ability to work with teams commitment to learning, growth and pursue improvement.
