Under the supervision of the Director of Insurance or the Senior Director of Insurance and Surety Bonds, the incumbent will be a resource for internal clients (both the team and business units) with regard to insurance for projects, from the insurance proposal to the end of the project. The incumbent will also play an external role, collaborating with various parties and maintaining a network within the industry. The incumbent’s main role will be to act as a resource in cases of complexity or issues.

What you will do

  • Answering various questions from team members and internal clients regarding insurance
  • Developing and managing relationships with insurers, brokers, and partners
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of processes and suggesting improvements
  • Ensure the rigor of other team members
  • Participate in decisions that have an impact in the medium term and identify overall risks
  • Coach and support the insurance and surety team and improve their understanding of the different situations encountered in order to find the best solutions
  • Have a solid network both internally and externally to achieve objectives. Build and maintain strong partnerships, taking into account the short-, medium-, and long-term vision
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of construction. Identify opportunities and adapt interventions according to the type of contract and construction method, and anticipate risks in contracts
  • Analyze and comment on calls for tenders and contracts, with an emphasis on insurance requirements, in order to determine and make recommendations on the insurance needs of projects
  • Understand insurance policies to verify their compliance and answer questions about them
  • Analyze and comment on insurers’ offers

This role could be for you if you have

  • Relevant experience in an insurance brokerage firm is considered a significant asset;
  • College diploma in insurance and/or financial services consulting, college diploma in administrative techniques with an insurance option, or an AEC in property and casualty insurance, or any other equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Knowledge of the construction industry will be considered a major asset;
  • Have a good sense of rigor, thoroughness, confidentiality, and organization;
  • Have decision-making authority;
  • Have a good ability to work independently and make recommendations;
  • Enjoy working in a team with dynamic people;
  • Be ready to take on interesting challenges.
