Responsibilities:
As a Senior Insurance Manager, you’ll provide strategic guidance and engagement with key stakeholders and project / program teams. You’ll organize / coordinate one or more programs (may include contract management responsibilities) and oversee progress, ensuring delivery of timely, successful program progression.

We are looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in Insurance or Risk Management with a focus on Casualty, Auto liability, and Work Injury coverage

What is the work?

Management / Project Management / Strategy:

  • Provides innovative input to business strategy from ground zero; ensures solutions that satisfy business needs; supports / ensures alignment with strategic goals and issues that result in business value
  • Serves as owner of 1 or more complex business programs; maintains program roadmap; participates in all aspects of assigned programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing; analyzes program effectiveness; defines / tracks program success metrics
  • Collaborates with company-wide stakeholders and program sponsor to understand end-to-end business needs, develop program strategy, objectives, and KPIs, and to ensure program evolves; works directly with leadership teams on complex program needs
  • Creates / maintains processes and standards; resolves program higher-scope issues; supports / ensures program success during development and rollout
  • Provides data and analyses to understand financial impact of business needs; may propose solutions
  • Serves as advisor on program-related market trends, potential impacts to existing business; identifies / resolves program issues
  • Manages program stakeholders; leads team efforts to meet committed deadlines and quality expectations; serves as program mentor and guide
  • Establishes / ensures standardized program management reporting; prepares reports for program directors
  • Focuses on / leads continuous improvement initiatives for assigned program(s) as business evolves

What is your background?

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Insurance Risk Management
  • Experience leading / influencing others in developing and aligning on vision and strategy
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

Do you have what it takes to be a Sr Insurance Manager at H-E-B?

  • Comprehensive knowledge of performance / process evaluation, change management, and PMI-based project and program management principles and methods
  • Working knowledge of program / project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, Confluence, JIRA, etc.)
