The role requires deep expertise in the ENERGY STAR program, particularly concerning its integration across various initiatives and its comprehensive products portfolio, and how these elements strategically align with BTO’s Codes and Standards program. Position Responsibilities * Supporting federal staff in the application and integration of ENERGY STAR strategies within broader national efforts for buildings and industrial energy initiatives. * Providing expert guidance and technical assistance for the strategic development and evolution of the ENERGY STAR Products portfolio, identifying opportunities for innovation and enhanced market penetration. * Facilitating analytical support and recommendations for the alignment and collaboration between the ENERGY STAR program and BTO’s Codes and Standards program, aiming for complementary goals and synergistic outcomes. * Offering strategic input and program development insights for ENERGY STAR program initiatives, drawing upon extensive experience in this area. * Conducting in-depth analyses of program data to inform strategic planning and assist in the development of high-level briefing materials and presentations for DOE leadership. * Collaborating with internal DOE teams and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, industry partners, and relevant organizations, to support ENERGY STAR program objectives and their integration within DOE initiatives. This position requires significant strategic insight, a strong understanding of program development, and the ability to contribute technically at programmatic and advisory levels. Success in this role will provide critical technical strategic support to DOE’s Energy Star and BTO’s Codes and Standards programs.   Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, energy policy, engineering, business administration, or related discipline). * 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in energy efficiency programs * Demonstrated ability to manage and lead complex program integrations and strategic initiatives. * Proven experience in integrating large-scale energy efficiency programs with broader national energy strategies. * Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify critical interdependencies and drive programmatic innovation. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders effectively. * Proficiency in developing strategic plans, policy recommendations, and high-impact presentations. Preferred: * Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field. * Extensive experience in a leadership or chief strategy officer role within a government agency, particularly related to buildings and industry. * Demonstrated deep knowledge of the ENERGY STAR program, including its operational mechanisms, strategic objectives, and product development lifecycle. * Direct experience working with DOE’s Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) (Formerly EERE) and the Building Technologies Office (BTO). * Familiarity with federal codes and standards development processes and their interaction with voluntary programs like ENERGY STAR.
