Location: Kenya Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement Engagement Length 12 months Years of Experience: 5 years in a similar role Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degreein a related field Certifications: Advantageous Work Model Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote) Key Skills ➔ Strong experience with Point of Sale (POS) device integrations ➔ Integration architecture expertise ➔ Proficiency in Golang and PHP ➔ API integration experience ➔ Backend-heavy engineering profile ➔ Experience in payment systems or fintech (preferred) ➔ Device management and support experience (ideal) ➔ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Responsibilities ➔ Lead and execute POS device integration projects ➔ Design and implement an integration architecture for payment systems ➔ Develop and maintain backend services using Golang and PHP ➔ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless device onboarding and support ➔ Manage API integrations with third-party platforms ➔ Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues ➔ Document integration processes and best practices ➔ Ensure all integration activities meet quality, compliance, and security standards Requirements ➔ 5+ years of experience in integration roles ➔ Proven experience with POS device integrations ➔ Strong backend development skills (Golang, PHP) ➔ Experience with API integrations ➔ Background in payment systems or fintech (preferred) ➔ Device management and support experience (ideal) ➔ Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

The specialist will lead and execute Point of Sale (POS) device integration projects, designing and implementing the necessary integration architecture for payment systems. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining backend services using Golang and PHP, managing API integrations, and troubleshooting issues.
