Senior Intelligence Analyst Intelligence Unit – Data, Intelligence & Analytics Directorate Building Commission NSW Grade: Clerk Grade 7/8 Employment type: Full-time ongoing Location: Parramatta (Hybrid working arrangements available) Help protect NSW homeowners through intelligence‑led regulation We are recruiting an experienced Senior Intelligence Analyst to join the Intelligence Unit at Building Commission NSW. This is a hands‑on operational intelligence role, suited to intelligence professionals with experience in regulatory, compliance, investigative or law‑enforcement environments who want their work to directly influence frontline operations, enforcement activity and public safety outcomes. Our analysts work closely with operational teams and external partners to: Identify highrisk entities and behaviours Inform licensing, audit and investigation priorities Support coordinated compliance operations and regulatory interventions Provide intelligence for states significant initiatives and joint agency activity The focus is intelligence tradecraft, judgement and operational relevance. Your impact As a Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will: Produce tactical and operational intelligence assessments that directly inform regulatory and enforcement decisionmaking Develop intelligence products to support licensing assessments, target selection, audits, investigations and compliance operations Conduct entity profiling, association analysis and intelligence assessments using structured analytical techniques Contribute intelligence to multiagency and states significant initiatives, including operational support to partner agencies Translate complex intelligence into clear, decision ready products for operational leaders Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulatory and law enforcement partners Support capability uplift within the intelligence function through collaboration and mentoring What you bring We are looking for an experienced intelligence professional who brings: Demonstrated experience working in an intelligence environment, preferably within regulatory, compliance, investigative or lawenforcement contexts Strong capability in tactical and operational intelligence analysis, including the application of structured analytical techniques Experience producing intelligence products that inform realworld operational decisions Sound understanding of intelligence handling, information management and evidentiary considerations The ability to work with ambiguity, prioritise competing demands and deliver under operational timeframes Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief a range of audiences Experience with data and analytical tools is valuable, however, the emphasis is on intelligence judgement, tradecraft and operational relevance, not model building or dashboard development Essential requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience in intelligence, law enforcement, regulation, investigations, criminology or a related field Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance National Police Check Willingness to undergo probity screening in line with relevant legislation and policies How to apply Submit: Your resume (maximum 5 pages), and A cover letter (maximum 2 pages) outlining your suitability for the role, with particular emphasis on your operational intelligence experience and the types of intelligence products you have delivered For role related queries please contact: Chris Hodges – Manager Intelligence - 📧Christopher.hodges@customerservice.nsw.gov.au For recruitment related queries please reach out to Afrah, via afrah.ahmedsaied@customerservice.nsw.gov.au A talent pool may be created for future temporary or ongoing vacancies with similar requirements.
