KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To deliver the above, the Senior Intelligence Analyst will: Support the Data Insight and Intelligence function/Locality management team to manage the teams to deliver business intelligence to end users Where required: manage an analytical resource consisting of analysts, data engineers, data scientists and and/or primary care data facilitators. Provide oversight and management of individuals within the Data Insight and Intelligence function/Locality Key responsibilities To support the Data Insight and Intelligence senior management team in devising, implementing and monitoring strategy and policy in relation to data and intelligence and outcomes in their specialist area(s) - To develop and maintain an understanding of the national perspective and future strategy for the NHS and related areas of Health and Social Care - To provide management to individuals within the relevant team, empowering individuals within own designated area, to perform to high standards and develop innovative ways of working. - To influence professionals within their area of responsibility to make key business decisions based on the use of robust finance, activity, outcomes and patient experience analysis. - To play a key supporting role in the innovation and transformation of the use of intelligence within the local health and social care economy, including the use of non-traditional information sources.
COMMUNICATION The post holder will have regular contact with a wide range of staff at all levels within the ICB/S, with senior and other representatives of local stakeholders, as well as with patients and their representatives. Some of the key direct relationships include: Colleagues and departments within the Data, Insight and Intelligence Function/ Locality Arden and GEM CSU NHS GM teams NHS Provider BI Teams Clinical Leaders Colleagues within NHSE Colleagues across Greater Manchester, NHS, local authorities and other third sector organisations INFORMATION RESOURCES, ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING - Responsible for using data and intelligence to contribute to the development and strategy in their specified area(s) - To provide analysis, interpretation and communication of highly complex data to all levels of the organisation, to support decision-making in the relevant business area. This may include needs analysis, health outcomes, service specifications, service evaluation, contract planning and monitoring (including financial elements) and performance (including clinical quality standards and patient experience). - To contribute significantly to the implementation of business information systems or elements of business information systems across the whole organisation and into General Practice, ensuring systems are fit for purpose to drive health improvement, improve performance and support business decisions.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT - Where required: To provide line-management to a section of the appropriate Intelligence team including supporting fair and inclusive recruitment and supervision: appraisals ; discipline and grievance ; attendance and performance management; work allocation, training of staff - Develop and maintain competencies for managing diverse staff and creating conditions for all staff to flourish equitably and arrangements to support staff who have equality, diversity and human rights issues. RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & AUDIT To support the development of Sub-National Secure Data Environment for Research and Development Programme via contributions to the development of the ADSP or through contributions to Research and Development in partnership with local partners The main duties and responsibilities described above are not exhaustive and the post holder can expect to take on other responsibilities or specific tasks as required. Further, over time it is likely the remit and requirements of the role will evolve, and the post holder will be expected to adjust their working approach and style to accommodate these.
