SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from a recognized institution.
  • Proficient in design and office software such as MicroStation, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • 7–9 years of proven experience in retail, residential, F&B, and hospitality projects, preferably with top-tier consultancies. Must be based in Dubai.
  • Strong understanding of managing design projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to develop and present design concepts for discussion and approval.
  • Skilled at integrating design requirements with architectural elements.
  • Proficient in using diverse media for design development and documentation.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative in response to instructions.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the designer’s role in project coordination and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring design team members.

Responsibilities

MISSION (PURPOSE OF THE ROLE)

The Senior Designer is responsible for leading and coordinating the internal design team throughout the project lifecycle. This includes preparing and developing drawings, models, images, mood boards, and materials related to the design. The role requires ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in the client’s best interest—free from personal bias. The Senior Designer must adhere to company procedures and standards, collaborate with external design teams and relevant organizations, and continuously develop their professional skills to remain at the forefront of design trends.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret and understand client briefs, and develop creative design concepts from inception to implementation.
  • Produce drawings, models, images, material samples, and mood boards as required.
  • Design both interior and exterior spaces, including layouts, finishes, custom joinery, details, and the specification of furniture and accessories.
  • Manage and mentor junior and intermediate designers within the team.
  • Coordinate the internal design team and ensure effective communication across all stages of the project.
  • Take ownership of design development with input from the Associate Partner or Partner during key project stages.
  • Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers as necessary.
  • Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
