POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an intermediate to senior-level developer with strong hands-on experience in Java and Python, as well as in building and maintaining ETL pipelines using Scala, Spark, or PySpark. A key requirement for this role is prior experience with technology upgrades—such as migrating from JDK 8 to JDK 17 or from Python 2.x to 3.12. You will be responsible for executing technology currency upgrades on ETL applications that support Group Treasury and Liquidity reporting.

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain data processing pipelines using Spark (PySpark/Scala) on Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Write clean, efficient code in Java and Python for application logic and integration.
  • Support tech modernization efforts by upgrading outdated frameworks, libraries, and environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and reliable data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance of large-scale ETL workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • University or Technical Diploma in IT discipline with equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Java and Python programming languages.
  • Strong experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, and Scala
  • Hands-on with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, YARN).
  • Exposure to tech stack upgrade/currency management in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and distributed computing principles.
