Senior & Intermediate I&E Engineers/Technologists
We are currently looking for Senior & Intermediate Instrumentation and Electrical Engineers/Technologists to join the growing team in our Calgary and Edmonton, AB offices.
About InnoTech Engineering 
InnoTech is an engineering company focused on Operational Technology (OT) spanning instrumentation, electrical and automation infrastructure. Our team consists of highly skilled engineers, technologists, and technicians with vast experience, capable of handling both small and large OT projects while also providing support for day-to-day facility operations. InnoTech’s primary services are Controls (PLC, DCS, SCADA), Electrical (low and medium voltage), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) engineering, and OT Lifecycle Planning and Cybersecurity.
Position Summary 
If you’re chosen for this role, you’ll join our team of highly skilled engineers and technologists to develop electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs to successfully deliver projects for our clients. You will apply industrial process automation technology with mentorship from our experienced staff. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to an Engineering Team Lead, the team member’s primary responsibility will be focusing on achieving project goals by collaborating with cross-discipline engineering teams.
  • Prepare conceptual engineering solutions including scope of work, cost estimates and implementation planning.
  • Independently prepare electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs/drawings, including, but not limited to, control panel designs, loop drawings, network architecture drawings, electrical infrastructure deliverables (cable schedules, power distribution, etc.) and electrical calculations (load lists, voltage drop, conduit/cable tray/wireway fill, etc.).
  • Read and interpret P&IDs for electrical and instrumentation design purposes.
  • Participate in on-site information gathering, and construction and commissioning support.
  • Participate in panel inspection and testing.
  • Provide technical support to project team members, including assigning and tracking project deliverables by junior staff. 
  • Comply with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this position’s responsibilities. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution with a focus on electrical or instrumentation engineering.
  • 4+ years industry experience in engineering or with an end-user.
  • Registered or future eligibility as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGA or as a Technologist-in-Training (T.T.) with ASET.
  • In addition to the technical components of the role, you should demonstrate the values and disciplines of our organization: a questioning attitude, a desire to improve, accountability, and collaboration, including strong communication skills and the ability to build functional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and Teams).
  • Willingness to travel – travel to customer sites will be required (approximately 10%).
  • Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
