Southeastern Louisiana University’s Office of Internal Audit invites applications for the full-time position of Senior Internal Auditor. Reporting to the Chief Audit & Compliance Officer, this position will be responsible for performing operational, compliance, and financial audits, along with special projects related to the University to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and practices. Travel is rare but may be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting, or other field with acceptable relevant experience.
Proven experience as an auditor (at least 5 years with increasing responsibilities)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with IIA Standards
Working towards Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other relevant professional certification (e.g., CISA, CFE)
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Exhibits ethics & sound judgment
Solid organizational and time management, including the ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of auditing principles and techniques
Knowledge of higher education or State of Louisiana operations, systems and data, and other compliance/regulatory requirements
