The Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO) is a development finance institution governed by the Belgian state with a goal to foster sustainable development through private sector investment in partner countries.

• Source deals proactively for the entire infra team by developing an active network with key stakeholders
• Identify and assess investment opportunities on economical, technical, legal, and social and environmental parameters
• Perform on-site due diligence missions, in coordination with the deal team and the experts
• Write detailed investment notes on the projects and present investment recommendations to the Screening Committee and the Investment Committee
• Define and negotiate investment terms with counterparties
• Supervise the preparation of legal documentation (in coordination with internal and external resources)
• Come to final close and ensure the adequate transfer of projects to the portfolio team
• Participate in ad hoc seminars and conferences as a speaker
• Supervise the work of junior investment officers on projects and share expertise with the investment team
• Support Manager to develop strategic topics, provide strategic insights to infra related topics
• Be the back-up of the Manager on infra topics
• Actively participate in transversal projects of the company
