About the Role: SMEC is seeking a Senior Irrigation and Drainage Engineer to support the construction supervision phase of a major irrigation infrastructure rehabilitation program. The role will focus on ensuring construction works are implemented in accordance with design specifications, contract requirements, and project standards. Engagement: This opportunity forms part of an Expression of Interest (EOI) submission for a major irrigation infrastructure project currently in the bidding stage. Engagement will be subject to project award and client approval. Key Responsibilities: Supervise construction works related to irrigation and drainage infrastructure Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved designs Review construction methodologies and technical submissions Inspect irrigation structures, pipelines, canals, and related infrastructure Monitor construction progress and support quality control processes Assist in contract administration and site supervision activities Prepare technical reports and construction progress documentation Support coordination between contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders Key Requirements: Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or related discipline Minimum 10 years of professional experience At least 8 years of experience supervising irrigation or hydraulic infrastructure projects Experience supervising irrigation systems, canals, pipelines, or drainage works Experience with contractor management and construction monitoring Fluency in English The Georgian language is considered an advantage Why Join SMEC? Responsibilities

The Senior Irrigation and Drainage Engineer will supervise construction works for irrigation and drainage infrastructure, ensuring compliance with design specifications and contract requirements. Key duties include monitoring contractor activities, reviewing technical submissions, inspecting structures like canals and pipelines, and preparing progress documentation.
