OVERVIEW

JST is currently seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to support our team within a government environment. The IT Business Analyst 3 plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between IT and the business objectives within the government environment. This position involves analyzing business processes, identifying requirements, and providing data-driven recommendations to enhance IT systems and solutions. The IT Business Analyst 3 works closely with stakeholders to ensure that IT initiatives align with organizational goals and compliance standards.

SR IT BUSINESS ANALYST QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, but relevant experienced considered.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar are preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working in the IT space.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, databases, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency in using business analysis tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Visio, SQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with DoD regulations, compliance standards, and security protocols.
  • Smartsheet, Salesforce, Lucid Chart, Google Workspace experience
Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed analyses of business processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for IT systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, and quality assurance teams.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Assist in the design and development of IT solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Support the implementation and integration of new systems and enhancements.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure solutions meet specified requirements.
  • Ensure IT solutions comply with DoD (Department of Defense) regulations and security protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for IT projects.
  • Stay updated on DoD policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Monitor the performance of IT systems and solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
  • Use data analytics to measure the effectiveness of IT initiatives and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be available to travel up to 4 times a year.
