JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Senior IT Engineer to join our team. This is a senior-level role requiring someone who can take ownership, lead technical initiatives, and deliver results without constant oversight. You will support a select group of Blue INK Security clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and helpdesk operations are running smoothly. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent onsite with one of our key clients in Dallas, TX, providing direct technical leadership and hands-on support.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with proven experience managing diverse IT environments, equally comfortable working solo or as a trusted advisor to client leadership. This is not an entry-level role, we are looking for someone who thrives on responsibility, can operate with minimal direction, and consistently drives technical excellence.

COMMUNICATION & LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership presence, with ability to operate independently and instill confidence with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills; can clearly explain complex technical concepts to both executives and end users.
  • Professional, punctual, reliable, and trusted as the go-to IT leader without needing micromanagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of proven success in IT infrastructure engineering and technical support at a senior level.
  • Hands-on expertise with:
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration.
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, group policies, DNS, DHCP.
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or other SaaS hosting environments).
  • Network administration (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, wireless).
  • Backup and disaster recovery platforms (Datto, Veeam, or similar).
  • Windows, MacOS desktop and mobile device support.
  • Endpoint management tools (RMM, Intune, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a Consulting or MSP environments strongly preferred.
  • Certifications (Microsoft, Google, AWS, Cisco, CompTIA, etc.) are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and manage end-to-end IT infrastructure operations across multiple client environments.
  • Independently deliver solutions to complex IT problems without requiring step-by-step oversight.
  • Administer and support both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.
  • Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, and other SaaS platforms).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows, MacOS desktop and mobile device performance.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
  • Lead network administration (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, wireless) with secure configurations.
  • Oversee and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical leadership for clients’ HelpDesk requests.
  • Act as the primary onsite technical lead for the Dallas-based client (~50% of time onsite).
  • Proactively monitor environments, anticipate client needs, and implement improvements before issues arise.
  • Collaborate with our cybersecurity team to integrate IT operations with best-in-class security and compliance practices.
