• We are looking for:  A Senior IT Operations Engineer who will provide technical support for our application operations, optimize complex system environments, and act as the central contact person for infrastructure and operational issues.
• We offer: A 30-hour week, 30 vacation days, 100% remote work, flexible working hours and a permanent employment contract. 
• We pay: between €60,000 and €70,000  gross annual salary, depending on professional experience and prior knowledge in the aforementioned areas of responsibility. 

THIS IS YOUR JOB

• Application Operations & Performance:  You will support our IT Operations Team in optimizing and managing the performance of our application operations. This involves working with databases, servers, applications, and monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring stable, high-performing, and reliable applications.
• Infrastructure & Operations Strategy:  You will contribute to the planning of our overall strategy for infrastructure and application operations. This involves evaluating complex system landscapes, understanding technical interrelationships from the application to the hardware, and supporting us in further developing our operating environments to be scalable, secure, and future-proof.
• Stakeholders & technical partners:  You are the point of contact for internal stakeholders, external developers, and technical partners regarding questions about infrastructure, IT operations, and application operations. You ensure that technical requirements, dependencies, and solutions are clearly communicated.
• Audits & Assessments:  You will support audits and assessments and prepare technical information in a structured manner. In doing so, you will contribute to ensuring that requirements for stability, safety, and traceability are clearly defined in operations.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Qualifications : You have a degree in computer science or business informatics, vocational training as an IT specialist, IT systems electronics technician, or a comparable qualification. You also bring relevant professional experience in the planning, operation, and optimization of complex application environments.
• Technical skills:  You are familiar with database servers such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB, as well as web servers such as IIS or Apache. You also have experience with reverse proxies such as HAProxy or Nginx and hosting your own distributed applications.
• Systems Understanding & Security:  You understand the technical interrelationships from applications and operating systems to infrastructure and hardware, and possess a broad understanding of IT. Security is an integral part of stable and reliable operations for you.
• Working style:  You work in a structured, solution-oriented, and independent manner. In communication with internal stakeholders, external developers, and technical partners, you explain technical topics clearly and work transparently and reliably.
• Language skills & on-call duty:  You are fluent in German and proficient in spoken and written English. Participation in a cyclical on-call duty system as part of business continuity is generally possible for you.
