Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (Remote)
Location: Remote (Local candidates preferred for equipment pickup)
Employment Type: Contract

JOB OVERVIEW:

Client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to oversee and deliver multiple high-impact IT projects within its IT PMO. The primary assignment will focus on the Roadway Lighting Control and Monitoring System Project, as part of the SAS Initiative within the Transportation Portfolio.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience with MS Project using Project Server for large-scale, multi-year projects.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated leadership in managing IT projects and third-party implementations.
  • 7+ years of experience in scope, budgeting, quality assurance, and resource planning.
  • 5+ years of experience with project risk management techniques (e.g., failure mode analysis).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 6+ years of experience in contract and vendor management.
  • 5+ years of strong analytical and conceptual skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience managing government IT projects.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: Up to $51.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Manage full lifecycle of multiple IT projects from initiation through close-out.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans using MS Project and Project Server.
  • Oversee scope, schedule, resources, budget, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead coordination between cross-functional teams, vendors, and DOT stakeholders.
  • Conduct project status meetings, manage change control, and track deliverables.
  • Oversee vendor contracts and third-party solution integration.
  • Facilitate training, governance, and reporting for project management standards.
  • Ensure alignment with DOT business goals and IT strategy.
