Senior IT Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Position Overview
As a Senior IT QA Engineer, you will play a strategic role in establishing and executing the quality assurance processes that support our software systems and enterprise IT infrastructure. You’ll lead the testing strategy across multiple platforms, manage test automation efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our products and services.
This role combines strong technical skills in automation with strategic oversight of software quality in a growing, tech-driven organization. You will ensure that applications meet high standards of quality, usability, and performance while mentoring junior team members and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Compensation range: $70,000 - $80,000 based on experience
Key Responsibilities

Enterprise IT QA & Test Strategy

  • Lead QA planning and test execution across web platforms, APIs, databases, and internal IT systems.
  • Design and execute both manual and automated test cases for functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure alignment between IT infrastructure and software quality standards.
  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and comply with applicable IT and industry regulations.

Automation & Technical QA

  • Build and maintain robust automated test suites using modern frameworks (e.g., Selenium, RSpec, Postman).
  • Conduct regression, integration, and performance testing across various environments.
  • Establish test data management, continuous testing, and environment configuration practices aligned with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track application stability, uptime, and user-impacting issues.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive quality standards, frameworks, and QA best practices across teams.
  • Mentor and guide QA analysts and junior engineers, fostering technical and professional development.
  • Own defect management processes, including root cause analysis, triage, and resolution.
  • Analyze trends in quality metrics to proactively address system inefficiencies and bottlenecks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, including hands-on experience with test automation and IT systems.
  • Strong expertise in testing RESTful APIs, backend services, and web-based applications.
  • Proficiency in test tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, RSpec, JMeter, Cypress).
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/DevOps practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure-related QA: environments, deployment pipelines, servers, and containers.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
