SENIOR IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR:

On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Senior IT Systems Administrator for a full-time contract role.

SENIOR IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the enterprise data centre infrastructure. This role involves incident management, service requests, and maintenance, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure the reliable operation of data centre services.

SENIOR IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 7+ years of IT Infrastructure administration in data centre/SaaS architectures.
  • Strong background in enterprise class network administration with Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
  • 7+ years of Linux Systems Administration (Red Hat).
  • 10+ years of experience with VMware Virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Firewall and VPN design and implementation.
  • 5+ years of Enterprise Security/Information Security Administration and Management.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure and Data centre monitoring software.

SENIOR IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • BSc in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Oracle Database Administration.
  • Collaboration services such as Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft CRM.
  • Experience with VLANs, VTP, and network protocols.
  • Application and process automation experience utilizing Ansible.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the reliable, efficient operation of production data centre infrastructure & services with 24x7x365 uptime requirement.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining data centre infrastructure.
  • Network strategic design, discovery and documentation, including logical and physical diagrams.
  • Perform daily maintenance and monitoring of Local Area Networks (LAN) / Wide Area Network (WAN) services per established procedures.
  • Partner with development and web operations teams to meet organizational goals, identify solutions to problems and proactively seek improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, make recommendations and assist with implementing efficiencies.
  • Lead teams implementing large scale IT initiatives.
