This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support (Tier 2/3), leading troubleshooting efforts, mentoring junior IT staff, and supporting enterprise-level systems and initiatives. The role requires strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in both office and field environments. This position is based in the Houston office and supports additional locations including Austin, San Antonio, with occasional travel to other ICE offices. This position orders, supports, configures, and installs IT equipment for the workforce in multiple states in both office and field environments. Resolves tier 1 computer hardware and software issues, trouble-shoots connectivity issues with PCs/laptops, printers, iOS devices, CAD plotters, and VOIP phone systems. Supports IT Director on special projects and IT upgrades and implementations. The IT Technician will be based out of the Norcross Office and will also provide IT services for the Sandy Springs and downtown Atlanta office.   Responsibilities * Order, support, configure, and install IT equipment for employees across multiple states in both office and field environments. * Resolve Tier 1 computer hardware and software issues for staff. * Troubleshoot connectivity issues with PCs, laptops, printers, iOS devices, CAD plotters, and VOIP phone systems. * Provide general end-user support in a Windows and Office 365 environment for office and field employees. * Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide variety of technical support issues, including connectivity, desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and software problems. * Assist the IT Service Manager with travel to new or expanding office locations to install and configure IT components. * Configure laptops and supporting IT equipment for new hires, install required software, and ship equipment to appropriate work locations. * Support the IT Director with special projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations. * Assist the IT Service Manager and IT Director with IT-related projects as needed. * Perform other duties and job assignments as directed by the supervisor. * Travel to office locations as needed, including occasional overnight travel. Qualifications * Above average interpersonal skills are needed for this role. * Must be a team-oriented, efficient trouble-shooter and possess excellent time management and prioritization skills. * Must have math calculation skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience. * Strong written and communication skills required. * Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace. Education & Experience Requirements * Associate degree in IT Technology/Computer Science from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is required. * Working support knowledge with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Remote Desktop, printing, computer hardware (PC and laptop), and web-based applications. * CompTIA A+ certification is preferred. * Two years of experience providing IT support, preferably within an engineering or professional services environment, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and configuring hardware and software. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position predominantly involves 8 to 10 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee must be able to lift, package, and ship IT equipment up to 75 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods.   Expected Hours of Work This position will be a full-time position. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one unpaid hour for lunch each day. The IT Technician must be available for on call emergencies after hours.
