  • Networking: LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Firewalls (Smoothwall, Cisco Switches, Meraki WIFI)
  • Remote Desktop Services and SAN environments
  • MIS / Database experience
  • Endpoint protection and backup solutions
  • Cyber Essentials compliance and best practices
  • Experience supporting both end users and infrastructure in a live environment.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Technician to provide dedicated support and project setups to one of our key clients—a large educational institution—and an additional single-site business client. This hands-on role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-first mindset.
With a breadth of technical solutions deployed across the college, no two days are the same. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we support the merging of systems and the implementation of new technologies and hardware. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the IT environment during this period of transformation.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations, resolving escalated technical issues, supporting infrastructure and systems, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery. You will also work closely with the client’s internal teams and Prodigy’s wider technical staff to maintain and improve the IT environment with project work where required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide on-site and remote support for a college and one additional client, ensuring the timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for escalated support requests and complex troubleshooting.
  • Maintain and support core infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of IT projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
  • Monitor system performance and security, applying updates and patches as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and build strong working relationships with client stakeholders.
