Design, implementation and further development of software solutions in Java 25 at all architectural levels
Taking over technical responsibility for (sub-)components and modules within the framework
Active participation throughout the entire software lifecycle, from analysis and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.
Evaluation and design of software architectures, interfaces and data models
Integration of innovative solutions into the existing systems of the German Armed Forces, as well as agile work in the interdisciplinary development team and close collaboration.
Coordination with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders
Technical support for less experienced developers
Active participation in shaping the software engineering area of BWI, contributing innovative suggestions for improving development processes, tools and collaboration, and driving digital transformation.
Your profile:
Completed studies in computer science or comparable qualification
At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
Very good knowledge of Java (level 17 and up) and the JDK
Experience with legacy code, refactoring, and migrations
Solid experience in software architecture, clean code, and design patterns.
Experience with CI/CD, build and deployment pipelines (DevOps mindset)
Confident handling of Git, Jira, Confluence
High quality awareness, independent work ethic and team orientation
Fluent German and English skills
