Description

Your tasks:

  • Ensuring code quality through reviews, refactoring, and the establishment of best practices.
  • Design, implementation and further development of software solutions in Java 25 at all architectural levels
  • Taking over technical responsibility for (sub-)components and modules within the framework
  • Active participation throughout the entire software lifecycle, from analysis and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.
  • Evaluation and design of software architectures, interfaces and data models
  • Integration of innovative solutions into the existing systems of the German Armed Forces, as well as agile work in the interdisciplinary development team and close collaboration.
  • Coordination with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders
  • Technical support for less experienced developers
  • Active participation in shaping the software engineering area of ​​BWI, contributing innovative suggestions for improving development processes, tools and collaboration, and driving digital transformation. 

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in computer science or comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
  • Very good knowledge of Java (level 17 and up) and the JDK
  • Experience with legacy code, refactoring, and migrations
  • Solid experience in software architecture, clean code, and design patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD, build and deployment pipelines (DevOps mindset)
  • Confident handling of Git, Jira, Confluence
  • High quality awareness, independent work ethic and team orientation
  • Fluent German and English skills
