About the role As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions that align with business goals. In this role, you will: Lead the design and development of scalable applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture. Oversee the integration of RESTful web services to enhance system functionality and interoperability. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Conduct code reviews and implement best practices to maintain code quality, performance, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure minimal disruption to business operations. Optimize application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations. What you need to have to be considered 6–10 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies. Proven expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Core, and Microservices architecture. Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and Core Java. Proficiency in PL/SQL for database development and optimization. Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. These will help you stand out Experience leading cross-functional teams in a hybrid or distributed environment. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Exposure to cloud platforms and containerization technologies. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. Passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
