SENIOR JAVA ENGINEER

Our leading Financial Services client is looking for highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join their team for a 6 months initial contract.
This is a specialist role working within eFX connectivity.

Technical skills:

• Strong core Java expertise, particularly in lock free and GC techniques.
• Designing and troubleshooting fault tolerance high performance system architectures (sub millisecond latency).
• low latency messaging middle wear is ESSENTIAL
• Understanding of modern CPU architectures, cache optimisation techniques and Linux optimisation/kernel knowledge.
• Deep networking/messaging knowledge (TCP/UDP/UPC/Multicast/FIX); ability to understand & diagnose packet captures..
• Familiarity with FIX protocol for both orders and market data.

Business skills:

• Significant knowledge of spot FX products and market-making or a similar business.
• Experience of FX hedging venues and market structure.
• Experience of regulatory control landscape.
• Familiarity with different execution and hedging algos.

Other:

• 3rd line support (including callout) to backup the global support team.
• Ability to work closely with traders and BAs.
• Ability to work with a globally distributed team and support junior team members with less experience.
